It’s my birthday. When my parents were my age they were parents to a (pretty rad BMX freestyle/skateboard infatuated) chubby junior high kid, homeowners, careers, the whole nine yards of what was considered ‘normal adult life progression’ back in their time.

Surfs up...on my head
I’ve adopted the more modern approach to adult life progression – fuck the wife and kid biz. Homeowner? Well, eventually, but I’ll wait til Portland drops another 20+%. Career? Read about those, but they went the day of Boeing and the dodo. Quite frankly I’d rather go with zero income for an extended period trying to create my own future than settling for the security that comes with being someone’s 9-to-5 drone. 33 is the new 21, and I’m about to do a 21 run, who’s in?
Oh, a birthday list of gear that has caught my eye lately for one reason or another. May not be the best, but it’s intrigued me. C’mon blogosphere brethren, hook a blogga up!
Capita Charlie Slasher Pow FK – because that damn vid got me stoked on riding pow in the middle of the summer, and it reminds me of the old Rob Roskopp boards by Santa Cruz. I’d also like a Temple Cummins Billy Goat and the new T-Rice to really round out the quiver.

Yeti Arc-X – because the thing is about as beautiful as something without breasts can be

Syncro Westfalia, preferably with Subaru engine conversion, or a TDI conversion. C’mon, how epic of a ski/beach rig would that be?

Cooperfish longboard. I tell myself if I had one of these I’d be able to walk the board and get on the nose more frequently, but sadly I’ve surfed a buddy’s and it isn’t true. Maybe if I had my own?

I could go on forever….

hey happy birsday! I bought me some records to commemorate this epic day…
damn, hope you got some good’ens!
