Still trying to figure out pricing.
First up, 8’6 Pearson Arrow
-8’6 x something x something x something (will try and decypher it later)
-Was originally shaped for an ex-girlfriend’s birthday, basically this is a longboard for a smaller individual
-Hand shaped by Bob Pearson (not his ghost shapers – though not that Dane and others didn’t make some nice boards!))
-Clark Foam (yup, pre-shutdown, get your Clark Foam fix)
-Can be ridden as a single or tri setup
-Surfed maybe 5x total
-Blue spray (not resin tint) with floral nose patch
-Couple pressure dings/tiny spiderweb in a spot or two, what you’d expect to see after a few surfs
-Would trade for a 6’4+/- keel or twinzer fish (looking for a high volume/wider as opposed to one that’s more towards perf shortboard shape) or a heavily glassed pig or maybe some other longboard (tho I have a few already so will be kind of picky)

Admit it, I look sexy in my shadow
 Shaped/signed by Bob Pearson himself
Next up, Creme Stiletto. Originally bought this to resell to Japan because they love this kind of shit. Surfed it once, surfs actually REALLY nice, but I just don’t need a board worth this much.
-Creme/CJ Nelson/Paul Frank (yes, seriously, the monkey tee shirt guy) collaboration
-9’9 x something x something – will have to drag it out and check
-Only 50 made, originally sold as part of an art show/fundraiser ‘Only about 6 out of 50 were still unsold when the show started. I think all but one of those sold as well. Sales price on all 50 was $3500.’
-Jim Phillips/Robbie Kegel shaped
-All resin work
-Comes with matching Paul Frank branded bag, wallet, t-shirt (srsly)
-Rakuten is selling one for a GRIP without the other collectibles (huhlooo Japan!)
-Old photos of some D-bag holding the board below

Looking for something else?
 OK, not really my quiver

Yes, this started a few days ago, but I was in Mexico sin internet. REI Anniversary Sale, their biggest of the year, is on now. If you’re a member you can get 20% off any non-sale item with code ANNV2011. Quickly scanned the sale, didn’t see anything that seemed like a screaming deal, but YMMV.

Just got an email from backcountry.com saying their Spring Delay Sale starts today. Looks to be limited to outerwear, and often things you DON’T want to be caught in the rain in (fleece? really?), but some good deals to be had if you’re in the market for a new rain shell. A few selections that stood out below.
Patagonia Torrentshell on sale
Wet weather protection and the best warranty in the biz
Patagonia Rain Shadow jacket on sale
 Another 'gucci for sale
Marmot Aegis jacket on sale
Rain protection from the furry little critter co.
Anyways, stay dry

Yup, it’s that time of year again, REI dividend time. And, as usual, they’ve got a 20% off regular price schwag code MEM2011. The fine print is always hit or miss, but it looks like it’s currently working on avalanche beacons.
Ortovox 3+

Pieps DSP

Ortovox S1

It says it works on Novara bikes as well, could be a pretty solid savings if you’re in the market for a Novara (aka bike with a return policy).
Anyways, it’s Friday, hope everyone is doing big things this weekend.

Well, OK, not really a sale but for sale (not by me). Given there are only three left unsold (wonder how many were manufactured?) in the United States, one of which is at Seattle store evo, figured it was worth a mention . Just posting as I know a lot of the lurkers have pinged me asking where they can get their unstitched, 10 fingered little lurker hands on one. Nope, the Jones Solution ain’t cheap, but she sure is purdy.
The Solution to the question 'How can my bank account be $900 lighter?'

…yeah, again. Some good deals to be had at US Outdoor Store’s sale, and by good deals I mean like $10 more than buying a used one. And yes, I do find it odd that I can get a piece of technology that can make calls, surf the internet and has a built in GPS for less than the price of a piece of electronics that beeps and finds other beeping pieces of circuit board.
Mammut Pulse Barryvox – $359 and change. I’ve seen it for sale used for more than that.

Ortovox Patroller Digital – $239 and comes in circa-2000 iMac colorway.
See through blue, so hot for spring 2011
Ortovox S1 Sensor – $399

Pieps DSP Advanced – $439. Not sure if the ‘Advanced’ references it’s feature set or it’s price range, but it’s on sale if it’s what you’re looking for.

So there ya have it, some avalanche beacons on sale pre-spring touring season. As always check your local shop before spending your money at a web retailer, and if you talk to them they may even price match for you. If you’re in Portland US Outdoor Store IS your local shop so you can silence that nagging voice about keeping your money local.

Saw that the Burton Freebird (midseason release split, with Mr. Kyle Miller’s design help – btw, check his sick piece in the new Backcountry Mag!) was on sale at a few places. If you’re looking for one and can’t find it locally worth checking out the below retailers.
US Outdoor Store for $480

also at evo for $559, but they price match and throw in free shipping so worth checking as well. Word.

Just saw that backcountry.com was having a sale (yup, it’s that time of year). Noticed they have quite a few beacons and other miscellaneous avalanche safety schwag on sale. Beacons tend to not follow the rest of the gear – i.e. 50% off sales by March – so anytime they are 25% off or so it’s worth checking if you’re in the market.
BCA Tracker

Mammut Pulse
Probably the highest tech beacon there is

Pieps DSP Advanced Smart
This one is kind of odd to me, it’s the Pieps DSP with some updated features – barometer, thermometer and compass. I just find those features odd for something you’ll be wearing on your chest and under your layers. Otherwise, sick beacon.

They’ve also got the Ortovox 3+, Pieps Freeride, Pieps DSP Smart and Ortovox S1 on sale so click to check ‘em out.
Don’t need a beacon but looking for a deal on a shovel or probe? Yeah, those are on sale as well – though I think Feathered Friends in Seattle has better deals right now if you’re looking for something local and you’re a 206er, and hell they may ship.
Anyways, just a heads up.

Just saw the REI Winter Clearance is going. The snow is finally coming, may be worth checking out. Didn’t see anything too exciting and worth commenting on, seems like a lot of ‘this sale price is equal to other retailers everyday price’ but what do I know?

Saw this deal at US Outdoor Store for an Ortovox D3 beacon, Ortovox Alaska D handle shovel and 240 cm probe for $299. Not bad if you’re looking to gear up in one stop and these meet your needs.
