Big mountain line slayer Jeremy Jones announced his resignation from Rossignol yesterday on his blog.
As of today I am no longer working with Rossignol Snowboards. It has been an amazing experience and I want to thank everyone at the company for supporting me the last 19 years. You always gave me the freedom to do what I wanted with my snowboarding. Off the hill I learned a ton about how to develop snowboards from the start all the way to the snowboard shop. This has been my college education.
I want to give a special thanks to Francois Goulet, the North American President. He was pivitol in helping me get Protect Our Winters of the ground and always supported my ideas. It has been an amazing learning experience watching him lead the company.
I have so many great memories from my time with Rossignol and I wish them the best of luck in the future. Hope to see you all in the mountains.
No huge surprise IMO given the way the industry has been going given the current economy, as I’ve got to believe a non-Xgames competing pro costs more than he brings in from an ROI perspective. However, more interesting was this comment Jeremy left in the comments

Hmm….we know he’s been on a self-powered kick lately, and Rossi never produced a factory split – all of Jeremy’s splits were done by Monk over at Down the Middle. We also know he spent a substantial amount of time with Travis Rice in the BC this year. Could this be a precursor to the oft-rumored and much anticipated Lib factory split? Only time will tell… (though the Vegas odds are on Nidecker)
In the mean time check this vid from early last season as Mr. Jones hits a slightly rough line.
UPDATE: Looks like the Nidecker rumor is now official.
