New Spark R&D website, products

The paradigm changing boys over at Spark R&D just dropped their new site with their new products on it. Take a gander at the the new Burner, the Burner LT ($380, ruck me funnin’) and the long overdue Deeluxe/Spark collabo Boot. Siiiick. However, I’ve got to say the Ken Burns effect on every product makes me want to steal a kid’s lunch money and kick a puppy. I won’t say it’s flash intro on a real estate or restaurant site bad…I’d say holy shit it’s actually worse. They’ll work it out though, hopefully before too many puppies get injured and kids go without lunch.

I say vibe-rum you say vibb-rum

While on their site note the Strappy Strap. OG freestyles/Elfgen/Torque influenced.

If your local shop doesn’t carry them you can purchase the Spark R&D Burner here and the Spark R&D Blaze here

Spark R&D Fuse binding in stock at Snocon

Was pissing away some time this morning, dreaming of having three spare benjis to drop on splitboard bindings, when I saw that they are actually IN STOCK at Snocon. Pretty much everyplace is sold out of these (I mean hell, the guys at Spark are sold out of them themselves!), so if you’re in the market I’d say get on them now. If you’re unfamiliar with the Spark R&D splitboard bindings it’s time to crawl out from under your rock, dial into your internet provider, and get your learn on at their site.

The hawtness

EDIT: Throwing this (ugly) widget up so you can quickly/easily see who has the Spark, and at what price

(insert mini-rant about when you could get a full shred setup for $300 here…granted it probably weighed 40 lbs, the highbacks didn’t fold down, and you rode it in Sorels, but hey three hundred bucks!)

UPDATE 10/14/11:  As this post is still getting traffic but is from an old sale I put a gear finder search box up on the top right rail to help you find any items on sale.  Just go up there, type in what you’re looking for and click search and a list of items and prices matching your criteria will show up.  Should help you quickly find what you want and at a price you want it at!

Vote for Spark R&D at ispo BrandNew

Saw this over at Chris/BCRider’s site splitboard.com.

Spark R&D has submitted their Fuse splitboard binding to the ISPO annual brand new contest. ISPO is the International Trade Fair for Sports Equipment, held for the last 40 years in Munich. The brand new contest is an international competition rewarding innovation and technology in the sports and outdoor affiliated markets. This contest is only open to brands four years old and younger.

Go here, watch the video, and click the pink-ish ‘Rate It’ button to give Spark R&D and their Fuse binding the props they deserve. I mean c’mon, is the ‘innovation’ of cutting a damn breathing hole in a glorified bandana more deserving than the CNC machined/paradigm shifting/anodized goodness that is the Spark Fuse? I think not.

Prototype plate bindings for splitters spied…

Was reading a few TRs around the interwebs this AM and spied some shots of a prototype plate binding Will over at Spark R&D has put out to a few individuals for eaarrrrly proof of concept testing. Whispers from those that have ridden them are “controlled and adjustable lateral flex” has been designed in – finally negating the biggest stumbling block to hardboot adoption in the BC here in the US.

I am convinced that it will change splitboarding almost as much as the splitboard itself. I cannot believe how SICK these bindings ride. I am so convinced that it may be safe to say that softbooters are going to wish they hardboots.

I can only imagine the next step for these would be to integrate the binding into the slider track as they’ve done with the baseplate of their Ignition line of bindings. It’s great that splitboarding has Will and Spark R&D working on new technologies to move the industry forward while working around Voile’s existing (apparently extremely tight and defensible) patents.
